Wine:
The 2014 vintage can be described as a prodigious succession of sweetness, humidity, warmth and sunshine that gives this cru great quality. The extended late summer allowed the grapes to ripen to perfection. These conditions have made this a harmonious wine with elegant, polished tannins and dense, fleshy fruit. It can still keep for many years which will give it time to acquire even greater complexity.Vinification:

Deep ruby with black tints.Nose:
Crème de cassis, blackberry jam, black cherries, spice.Palate:
A big, broad and elegant wine possessing great density and body. A big Saint-Julien with notes of white pepper. The finish is long and persistent.
Temperature:
Serve between 16-18°CFood and wine pairing:
Game terrine, leg of saltbush lamb roasted with thyme, duck breast with porcini mushrooms, poultry from Bresse à la Forestière, fattened chicken with black truffles, roast teals.Cellar aging:
From now until 2040The vineyards of Léoville Poyferré, Léoville Las Cases and Léoville Barton previously formed a single wine estate created in 1638. The last of the parcels were divided up in 1840 and it was Jeanne de Poyferré who inherited the current estate which bears his name today. Since 1920, it has belonged to the Cuvelier family, wine négociants in Bordeaux. The estate has earned its reputation within the appellation’s iconic trio thanks to its consistent quality and exceptional elegance.
