The estate and the wine
The estate and the wine A winemaker in a class of his own and a long-time favourite of the Parker Guide, René Rostaing has become a quiet legend in Ampuis, working some of the finest terroirs in the appellation. His understated presence is matched only by his remarkable talent, winning over wine lovers around the world with cuvées of pure, classical elegance.

Whether from the prestigious appellations of Côte-Rôtie and Condrieu or under the IGP label, his wines consistently impress with their balance, charm, and precision. Given the estate’s limited production, bottles are available exclusively through allocation.
Wine Made from 100% Viognier, the 2023 IGP Collines Rhodaniennes Les Lézardes White delivers a beautifully refined bouquet of apricot, white peach, wisteria, and bergamot—evocative enough to rival a Condrieu. The palate is generous and rounded, echoing the aromatic profile with pure, mouthwatering charm. Perfect alongside exotic dishes—think chicken pastilla, saffron rice, or coconut shrimp—this is pure joy in a glass.
Vinification Hand harvested from young vines on two plots of the estate. Vinification in stainless steel vats, blocked malolactic fermentation, aged for 10 months.
