The estate and the wine
The estate and the wine An iconic Tuscan estate in the heart of Chianti, Tenuta Tignanello has been the cornerstone of the Antinori family since the 19th century. Its 130 hectares of hillside vineyards, rooted in rocky limestone soils, produce some of the most coveted and extraordinary wines in Tuscany—and the world.

This is where the first Sangiovese aged in barrels, Tignanello, was born. In the early 1970s, it broke tradition by blending Sangiovese with Cabernet and was declassified as a table wine for defying Chianti appellation rules. A pioneer of the “Super Tuscans,” Tignanello stands among the most sought-after wines globally, alongside its sibling, Solaia, which shares the same land and legacy.
Wine A blend of Sangiovese and Cabernet Sauvignon, the 2021 Red Marchese Antinori Chianti Classico Riserva is an intense wine with expressive aromas of red berries, black cherry, and subtle floral and spice notes. On the palate, these aromas are complemented by a taut, energetic structure with impressive depth. Aged in barrels without new oak, the wine highlights its precise fruit flavours, with delicate aromatics that extend into a long, flavorful, and well-rounded finish. A benchmark Chianti! Rated 94+/100 by Parker.
Vinification Hand harvested. Grapes destemmed, alcoholic fermentation for about 1 week. Aged for 12 months in French and Hungarian oak barrels.
