Wine:

A beautiful expression of its schist terroir, the 2022 red Faugères Les Jardins delivers pure, fragrant, and succulent fruit flavors, with hints of ripe fruits, accompanied by a promising mineral and smoky undertone. The precision of the aromas is complemented by a dense and concentrated structure, perfectly ripe and balanced by finely coated tannins. The liquorice-tinged finish concludes this elegant and fresh ensemble, perfect for pairing with grilled meats, such as duck breast or spiced duck strips. Awarded a 93/100 and the Selection Committee's top pick.

Harvested by hand, partially crushed. Short maceration for about 7 days. Aged for 1 year, 90% in concrete vats and 10% in 2-year-old barrels.

Pure and aromatic, the schist terroir of Faugères is very well represented, and we appreciate the smoky/mineral aspect and the subtlety of the aromas.

From now until 2030

Nestled between the Cévennes mountains and the fragrant scrubland, Faugères is a pristine haven where nature holds sway. It's within this untouched setting, shaped by schist soils, that Frédéric Albaret has made his mark at Domaine Saint-Antonin. Embracing organic and agro-ecological practices, he tends to this robust terroir with extensive grazing, sheep, and ground cover vegetation.
